New RN, NO JOBS!!!! WHAT the HECK!??

hi everyone. i am a new rn, just graduated in may, took nclex in july, and passed! yay!! however!!!!!!!!! i have been applying everywhere for over a month now!! i haven't gotten one phone call back for anything!! i got an email from someone about a position and i called him 3 times and he never returned my calls!!! i fax my resume with personalized cover letters only to recieve a phone call from hr saying "we don't accept resumes. you need to fill out an application online!" so those are the only phonecalls i do get! i fill out the online apps and ... nothing! no one ever contacts me! i am so eagar to get out there!! i feel like i went through all of that school and studying and $money$ for nothing!!! many of the people i went to school with have been hired, but most of them were emts, paramedics, or knew someone somewhere!! i am getting very discouraged. does anyone have any ideas? should i go to the hospitals?! hand them my resume?! help!!!!!!!!!! :banghead:

I currently have a job at Newark Beth Israel starting on Oct 6th in the NICU, but I'm still looking for others because it's kind of far for me as well as a few other reasons. The problem I've run into is that most people won't really talk to me until I have my license number in hand. (I just found out I passed on Sept 19 and still no number! But still...YAY!)

I'd really like to work for either Morrisstown or St Peter's in their NICU. I got a call from the Nurse mgr at Morrisstown but I couldnt answer and she left a message without her phone number and just said they didnt have anything available for this YEAR!!! :(

I guess I'll just sit on my hands and wait for that darn number...The NJ BON website doesn't seem to update very often. I'm told only once a month and I'm hoping they do it for October soon!

Newark Beth seems to be hard up for nurses so if anyone would like the phone number for a recruiter, PM me!
