  1. Hello Everyone: I got my first interview with MSKCC this coming week and I was wondering what the interview is like? How many interviews can I expect before getting an offer? What's the atmosphere like, specifically in ICU? Many Thanks!!
  2. Hi Everyone, I had my 15 MNS phone interview with one of the recruiters at NYP. I wanted to know how long does it take once your resume is forwarded to the nurse manager to get a call for an interview, based on your experiences? How long should I wait before I call the recruiter? Thanks a bunch!!
  3. I used to work there not long ago...They are in the process of merging with Kingston Hospital across the street. Its a very good unit to start as a new grad. You never feel alone and somebody is always there to help you. The nurse manager (Yvette) is awesome and easy to work with.. You can't find a better nurse manager. However, they are always short-staffed and lack of equipment at Benedictine.. I think the change to Kingston Hospital is for the best...Maybe we'll be more staffed... I think u'll like working there.. Any other questions, just PM me!! Good luck!!!
  4. Good Luck Paulpa!! I'm sure you'll do great!!
  5. It was really good. I was offered the position but still don't have no clue as to what the salary will be. There's a test 50 questions: basic math and some of drug questions. She asked very basic questions you would expect from an interview such as strentghs and weaknesses, qualities, why should I hire you? I'm sure you'll be fine.
  6. Hello Everone!!! I'm coming up on my year at the hospital I work at in upstate NY. It's very far from me... I travel 104 miles one way to work... I truly love the staff I work with, I've learned so much from them. We work as a team and I never feel like I can't ask a question because it sounds too dumb. Having said that for family reasons, I can't afford to move up there. I started applying to hospitals closer to me. I got a call back from the recruiter from NY Westchester Square Medical Center. I have an interview scheduled for next week. Can anyone tell me anything about this hospital at all, how was the interview, nursing culture, salary? I looked at their website but its so limited. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!
  7. I live 104 miles from work. It takes me 1hr30mins to get to work if I'm doing 80miles/hr consistently on a good day weatherwise. I called out of work today. My area (Northeast) got 12 inches of snow and where I work is scheduled to get upwards of 18 inches. I drive a compact car. So, NO I refuse to feel guilty...
  8. How did you get to interview with them? Did you go to the open house they had last thursday?
  9. If you don't mind me me asking, where are you located?
  10. Benedictine Hospital, Kingston NY (Ulster County) $22 ADN prepared $22.25 BSN prepared +$2 differential for nights
  11. So funny!! LOOOLLL
  12. 1hr 35 min/104 miles. The commute is killing me but I need the experience so I'll stake it out for a year or 2...
  13. They offered me the position (RN part-time telemetry unit) on the spot but I couldn't take it as I am already commuting 1hr30mns for my full-time job and this would be overkill... How's your job search going?
  14. Hello Everyone!!! I applied to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY and now I have an interview on thursday... I would like to know how's the nursing culture there? How's the pay? In short, is it a great place to be part of? Any input will be greatly appreciated... Anybody working there olease read this thread...:plsebeg:
