U.S.A. Texas

CONGRATULATIONS :yeah:to all that got accepted into the nursing program at Lone Star College and also the ones put on as alternates (hang in there, I have read good news for alternates in previous threads). Its been a long hard road for some of us and some its prabably been easy. I wanted to start a new thread for North Harris fall "09" students (or who every wants to comment or give tips.) Reading from previous threads I understand nursing school is not an easy tasks. So, hopefully this thread can help us entering into this new life we are about to experience for the next 2 yrs.

I was hoping we can form a study group to jump start us off before school starts. I heard that students usually have their group going by the first day of class. I am a little shy when it comes to meeting new people, but once I am comfortable I fit in just fine. I know from the previous thread a few of us admitted our shyness in a new environment. So, hopefully this thread can help us jump start our group...

Have anyone start working on their CPR, shots, physical and etc. Do anyone have to take pharm this summer? As for me, I have to take pharm this summer. I wish I had already taken it earlier so I could have enjoyed my summer.

Now,, why was that so hard for me.. Easy instructions thank so much...u r too kind... :) so, are you getting ready for July???

i'm sure i've read this somewhere, but i've forgotten... what days/hours are we there for the class that starts july 27?

I was wondering the same thing Jeneecw...,, we probably going to have to search the previous threads to find out, or just wait until orientation, which is around the corner for the June 3rd students..

Specializes in 0 as RN, 3 in ICU and Tele as Tech.

You guys may want to check your Summer 2009 schedules. Ours was there a little after acceptance and our intent to enroll were turned in. The days/times will be on there. HTH!

I checked MYRECORDS and nothing is posted yet..Tomorrow is the BIG day!! Well, at least that is the orientation that I am attending. Anyone else going? I have an appt. to get the fingerprinting/background check done tomorrow. I think all I am needing is my physical and verification of having chicken pox when I was a child. I'm so excited!!! :hpygrp::hpygrp:

Hi Lizzienick311,, I emailed you yesterday regarding Pharm, but I was able to find what I was looking for on the previous thread..

Tomorrow is the big day for some of you guys,, please dont forget to update us here on the thread...

Good morning everyone! So, I attended orientation on Wednesday and it was very informative.....kind of an eye-opener as to what to expect when school starts. The book list is sooo long and I was a little surprised at all the textbooks that we will need. They will go over everything and answer any questions that you may have. I'm in the process of getting all my immunization paperwork completed and turned in. One thing that i didn't know what that the 3 week prep. for basic care course that starts on July 27th is Monday through Thursday either (8am-12pm) or (12pm-4pm) - I thought it was ALL day, but it's only 4 hours/4 days a week..... They will open registration up for that class AND Fall classes on JULY 1st.....of course on a first come, first serve basis.

long does not even begin to describe that book list!!!

I spent some time yesterday pricing the books on amazon.com - it's overwhelming all the websites out there and trying to find the best deal. I noticed that some websites off "packaged deals"....where you get the textbook, cd-rom, and study guide all together....might save a little $$$
