Hello nurses. I have been anxious lately. My friend took her NCLEX May 11 at 2pm and got her license posted at BRN on May 13 at 7am. I took mine at May 12 at 5pm and ordered the quick result on May 14 saying I passed since my license is not posted like how my friend had. My other friend took his test on May 13 at 12pm and got his license posted too on May 15 at 630am. I don't know how BRN decides on who to post license firsts and who to wait. Does this mean they're not giving me the license cos they're reviewing my test? I know it says 6 weeks. I'm just losing hope cos all my friends who had taken the exam received their license already without waiting like I am.

Calm down. You don't say where your friends are, but they may be handled by a different state board of nursing, there may be short staffing there, who knows. Three whole days ! OMG! If it says six weeks, why freak out in three days? Where is it written that immediatge gratification is mandatory?
SMH. Yes, I'm one of those COBs who had to wait six or eight weeks for our results after sitting for two whole days taking paper and pencil tests. Nobody died. Go take a nice long walk in the forest or beach, have a gooey hot fudge sundae, call a friend for a virtual game of Scrabble, do somethohg else. Stop thinking about it. Life is long.
tried to edit typos but something isn't clicking there. sorry!

Every word of this.
I'm sorry if I sounded like I'm in a hurry. I am scared and confused. My 2 friends took their exam in California. And I have 4 more classmates who took it as well before me and also in california which they got the license posted within 2 days. I guess me questioning why mine have not been posted is not reasonable and may sound ignorant but can't I wonder why. Your reply is really uplifting. Thank you.

I hear you. Took my boards in mid-July, got the results in October. Although, there was a big difference in that the "GN" category was around and I could actually work as a nurse pending results...

The day I got my results I flew into work (PACU) and peeled the "GN" adhesive tape off my shiny name badge to reveal the coveted "RN" underneath. And as luck would have it, I was assigned an isolation patient in the back room, with a cover gown so nobody could see it. Sigh. But one nurse did see it as I was getting dressed and she made the announcement. Thanks, Ginger Wlody, wherever you are. I'll never forget you.
I was lucky. I graduated in 1997. We tested on computer. But it still took 2 weeks to find out for sure if we passed. I was at my sister's wedding in Chicago when I found out I had passed....... I finished in 20 minutes, 75 questions and poof it was off. Was sure I failed.....
Again, good luck to the OP!
