New Nursing School Opening (CUNY)

U.S.A. New York

Published

I was calling York college to ask for info on there RN to BSN program. However to my surprise, on there phone message, they said that they're going to open a new program for those who want to become a nurse. It didn't say if it was a ADN or BSN program. It will start Sept. 09, but they are not accepting applications or inquiries at this time. But those who want to go there, it is usually one catch with cuny's schools. You usually need to go there a Semester before you start there nursing program. In other words, you need to transfer there this January.

PS - have anyone heard of there RN to BSN program? is there a waiting list?

hey:yeah:...........jus read abt the york college generic BSn program...has neone applied for it?....will it be starting this fall or can we apply for the spring?....does ne one kno the application deadline for spring09 if there is one?..........thanx

When I called the school, the recording mention that its not accepting application at this time, the 1st semester starts in Sept.09. Remember one thing about CUNY schools, you must go there a semester before you enter the nursing program.

Does any one have any idea if you will need to take any entrance exam such as NET/NLN or any such exam in order to start this new nursing program at York College?

That's awesome about York!! I want to go into their RN-BSN program. Has anyone or is there anyone in that (RN-BSN) program now?

I had a few questions...

  • Do you need to be FT student there? Can I work and go there in the evenings?
  • How are the clinical and where?
  • Are there any online classes?
  • how long is the RN-BSN program?

:nurse:

I am also interested in the BSN program. However, there really isnt much info on their website. I saw this school listed on the aacn website with accelerated nursing program. I already have all the prereqs.. I wonder how long it will take to complete the BSN part? Does anyone know? I will try to schedule an info session with them soon.

A new program is always good news- I wish I was back home so I could've applied. Good luck to all who do.
