New Nurses, To Review Then Take Nclex Or To Work??

Plz help, i really wanna work but at the same time my mom wants me to review NCLEX and then take..

IS VOLUNTEERING a good idea?? i want to earn my own money..

im really confuse with what i should do first..

any suggestions??

BUT!!! on the other hand..its nice taking all the exams the soonest time possible cuz infos are still fresh!! but i heard that slots are full for nclex till i dont know.....

I believe its only in Hong Kong that the slots are always full. Try CNMI (Saipan) or Guam where travel/shopping/ miscellaneous expenses are more affordable > that is, if you're sole purpose is to take the NCLEX-RN per se. Currency is in US dollars. Beware...McDonalds value meal costs like 5 bucks++ (PHP260 if rate is $1=PHP52);) Also try South Korea, if you're up to that.

Better apply for the exam so that you will be eligible to take the test as soon as possible. After receiving you're ATT, that's the time for you to schedule the exact exam date of your choice thru the testing center/ country administering the NCLEX. Of course you must have a time frame so u won't get messed up.

Just want to add that although HK may be full for the next 2-3 mos or so it is by no means final. Majority of those who reserved a slot do so to make sure they have one (as advised by pearsonvue in their handbook) eventhough they don't have absolute intentions to go thru that date. Most often times testers move their sched as their appointment date nears by so the schedule will always change overtime and most often times even almost the whole 2-4 weeks or so will suddenly be free. Be vigil in checking the on-line sched availability. It changes day-to-day.

Also, make sure if one is already ready to take the test in a particular date make sure you book a flight AT LEAST 3-4 weeks before your appointment date or your flights to HK maybe fully booked as well.

hey TheRe,, i hAd a SamE diLemma..i pAssed NLE laSt dEc. hAven't Work yEt...cuz i ThoT it'L b better to take all exams before workin while still fresh.. n moST of my friends says that i might get confused when i praCtice in hospital setting here with regardst to the ideaL,, i also took the CGFNS last july and now, im anxiously waitin for the result.. while waitin, im having my self review for nclex... my application was received early april..(when do you think i should receive my eligibility??) sometimes im bored and thinking of working but im afraid i might lose focus..do you think im making the right steps??

i too am a fresh grad who just passed the june licensure exam here. and i have plans in taking/applying for CES Report, TOEFL and NCLEX. i agree with "gumdrop" when he asked the question '..do you think im taking the right steps??'

am i, are we really taking the right steps.? anyone here who did the same steps, that we are trying to forsee? did you have any problems?

also, do i have to wait for my license/oath taking before applying for CGFNS CES Report? can i now apply asap even without the formalities of a license. my relatives abroad, wants everything done in haste..

anyone with some answers please do post them.. thank you! :)

WE CAN APPLY EVEN IF WE DONT HAVE OUR LICENSE YET..

my aunt, a nurse in texas, advise me to review while working, because according to her experience is necessary so that the starting salary is higher than those who dont have any experience..

dont know who to rely on..

everyone in my family is in haste too.. i dont want to push myself too hard so i want to take it my way..

i passed the june 06 board exam.now im thinking of taking nclex, it will take up to 6 months just to get the approval from cali board of registered nursing.i asked my mom to call the cali brn in sacramento and asked if i need to submit a photocopy of my license here in the philippines.and my mom told me i need to submit a photocopy of my license.and if im going to wait for prc to issue our license it will take months so i cant send my application in cali yet.and it will take 6months to get a response from cali brn.is the license really necessary?coz my friend told me that he and his sister already submit an application in cali and they said license is not needed.well by the time they submit their application though they havent taken the board exam yet and they didnt pass either.do i really need to wait for my license to be released so i can send my application to cali?or can i send it without the license?im really confuse....help...coz i really want to send my application as soon as possible.

You can submit an application now. You just have to write a letter stating that you just recently passed the local boards and that your hard license will not be available for at least 2-3 mos. and that you will furnish them the copy upon availability. Many did these already.

so i will just send them the photocopy of my license after 2-3 months or once i get it?what if it will cause delay on my application?many did these already?are u referring to those who just passed the local board this june that did this already? coz my mom called brn cali and my mom explained that i passed the board but i havent gotten my license yet.my mom was told i need the copy of license for my application.

You can apply even w/o the copy of the license. Just give a letter that states the reason why you still don't have it. You don't even have to give the copy right away. I gave mine after I passed the NCLEX.
