it really doesn't seem like she wants to work.:uhoh3:

we have been short staffed for months so relieved that we got someone finally and that she is experienced. well, she seems nice enough but very slow and really miffed that she's going on her own this week! she's received more than the allotted amount of orientation and has gotten a lot of one on one time with her preceptor.

i've tried to give a bit of advice here and there, it doesn't seem to be appreciated.

even my supervisor said " i think she's going to give me chest pain".

my job is pretty sweet!!!! why???? :banghead:

did she really come into this thinking she was going to sit at a desk all day? the rest of us work pretty darn hard and it's tough when one doesn't fit in...

should i just shut up and worry about my own work? i like to do the team thing but not to just be rebuffed.:o

You can't work as a team if the other person won't do her part. Just do your job and let her sink.

CYOA- better to do your best and let the others do what they want.

We have this problem in our clinic with some staff. When reporting to suprovisers we were told we were no being team players and should let them handle it. So I guess I am a little jaded.

that statement just made about sitting at the desk all day- is that what really happens - does the new person really sit at the desk all day? (is she on desk orientation?)

I'm not trying to diminish your concerns {because I'm not there to see for myself} -- best to do your own job, and if the new person isn't suitable, then they'll make changes

no but she just has a funny attitude, like she was expecting this to be a mostly desk/office type job when it is not. i work in long term home care and we only spend about 25% of the time in the office.

believe me, i want to keep staff, i just see this as being a situation where she's going to burn out very quickly because she's going crazy over stuff she doesn't need to be going crazy over. there will actually be enough real stuff to go crazy over when the time comes :lol2:
