Nervous about taking blood pressure where I work. There is always talking and alot of noise so I can't get an accurate rea ding so I have to repeat. The patient's sometimes make a big deal and the other nurses just shake their head when I have to take the blood pressure again. The nurses where I work take blood pressure over hoodies and sweatshirts. I can't hear anything and the patient's In rehab so they don't want to show the track marks on their arms. Blood pressure is important and needs to be accurate. I just feel dumb taking it. Any suggestions?? I have been a nurse for 2 months today

Your co-workers are being sloppy and not following procedure. So what if the patients don't want to show their track marks. Access to the BP site must be gained. ( sounds like the inmates are running the asylum).
Check out some You Tube videos on technique, practice on anybody that will let you.
Stop being so hard on yourself, it takes time.
