new nurse confusion?????????

i am a new grad recently graduated in july and it is september i got my license..... here's the problem i was an lpn for 4 years two of which were in an emergency room. i'm intrerested in going back to the er but find that i am going on some of the strangest interviews on earth... maybe i'm not answering question correctly or as some (my mom and best friend) suggest i'm not being humble enough.. it makes me sad there is this big shortage and these hospitals will not even give me a chance.. is there really a shortage?:o i know i'm a new grad but plenty of new grads get hired in the er in south florida i've even heard of some getting hired into trauma.. please help! i'm not willing to go to an med surg floor. it seems like hospitals have the worst hr dept's on earth

You didn't really say what the problem was... or I am confused also.

If you want to work in the ER, you don't need to be humble. Are you ACLS certified? Have you taken extra certification in Triage or Trauma,

Cardiac or Stroke care? Are you great at starting IV's, drawing labs, interpreting EKGs? Have you considered approaching one of the nurses to act as a preceptor? Many years ago, these all worked in my favor. If you need any assistance, please ask--I will guide you if I can. (20 years experience in critical care/emergency).---P

Many ERs do not hire LPNs, but if they are taking the time to interview you seems like you'd be given a chance.
