New Member/Intro

I'm new here and figured an intro was in order...

I'm Linda, 40 from CO. I've been in the field of Respiratory since 82, primary NICU, PICU secondary.

I just joined EC and have the 7 nursing classes as well as Life Span and Gerontology to take.

It seems looking at the discussion board, the best thing to do is to study from the assigned books and yahoo groups and not get involved w/ any of the publishing companies (Rue, Chancellors, etc...).

Any suggestions would definitely be appreciated as well as if anyone is interested in a study buddy I'm game!

Btw, short term goal is to get my RN; long term goal is either Neonatal NP or Nurse Anesthetist.

Welcome Linda and good luck with your nursing courses. You should be able to get very specialized work with 2 professions. Good point, most students who use the resources recommended by Excelsior, say that is all that is needed. Some like the study aids advertised by other companies but they are costly and you are required to sign a contract which is difficult to get out of.

Welcome Linda, I've just started with EC myself. I used to live in Conifer and ran 911 with Pridemark in you general area. Good luck and I'm also staying away from those nasty publishers.

Welcome!

I'm sure you will find good information about EC on this site. There are some regular posters who always give good advice.

Hi Linda, and welcome. We are a small but mighty group of distance ed students. You will find a great wealth of information and support here from students of many ages and distance ed programs. We all have the same goal, nursing degree through a non-non-traditional program!

Glad to meet you!

BTW, several of us are 40-something.
