New member applying for admission into TWU Dallas Spring 2012!

Hello nursing fam! I just joined today and I am applying for admission to TWU Dallas for Spring 2012. I'm a current student at TWU here in Denton. I have been studying the teas study manual already and plan on taking it at near the end of July or beginning of August. So is anyone else applying for the TWU Dallas nursing location next spring as well?? I'm excited and looking forward in keeping contact with many nursing students. It can be an extremely stressful process but sharing it with others in similar situations can balance that stress!

Hello Everyone!! I'm applying to twu dallas sp2012. I took my teas in july. Does anyone know average teas score which gets accepted in TWU? The advisor says they look for GPA, first attempt A in A&P 1&2 and micro. and teas score. I wonder if anyone knows what is good teas score???

Hello Ladies!! I take my nursing exam Wednesday but I am super nervous and also a bad test taker so hopefully I can at least score a 75! WHat were you alls teas scores like? Hopefully we can all keep in contact :)

First of all, good luck to all of you that are taking tests these days!

I was recently accepted to TWU. I plan to apply for Fall 2012. I was just reading that the OP had a 4.1 GPA. Is it possible then to have a 4.4 final if you have a 4.0 from TWU? Is this common? I'm wondering if people from other colleges/universities have a real chance to get a spot.

Do you know if TWU shows some statistics regarding applicants' average GPA, TEAS scores, etc?

Hey everyone! I'm applying to TWU Dallas as well!

I just talked to a friend who was accepted for Fall 2011 and her stats were something along the line of 3.8 prerequisite gpa, 3.6 overall, and a 75 on the TEAS. She'd been going to TWU for the past year but didn't get the .4 gpa bump because she hadn't earned 32 credit hours there yet and still got in! It seems difficult to get anyone from the school to give you any kind of hint as to what a competitive score/gpa would be. Hope this is helpful!

@Laneerobinson, I was not confident at all before taking my TEAS and got an 88. I hardly had time to study. Just relax and do your best. It's not hard at all, and I'm sure you'll do great!

How did you study for your TEAS? I'm wondering if the ATI manual is enough or if I should look for something else? (88 is a good score, congrats!)

Thanks! I only used the ATI book, and felt like it was sufficient. I did a basic science review from the book a few days before and I was fine! There were hardly any A&P questions on my test actually which was surprising! the trickiest part was the grammar (another surprise!) lol so I'd make sure to look over that briefly.

Good to know. I was reading another thread about applying to nursing and the TEAS V, and several people were expecting more A&P (Good, considering they could ask gazillion things! LOL).

My twin sister has a 4.2 gpa (with the bump) and scored a 62% on the Teas Exam. I took mine yesterday I'm so scared and anxious to get my score back! The math was pretty easy but i ran out of time on that section and the reading! i dont know if I just didnt study enough for the science portion, but it was just random difficult questions so im worried! and you scored good on your teas! your appyling for the spring right?

i hated the teas all in all, the science had nothing to do with nursing, or medicine i got an 82 on it but i dont know how

I am really nervous about getting in as well. I didn't take my prerequisites at TWU, so I don't get the bump, but without it I still have a 3.94. I did really well on the TEAS (I got a 94), but because of the bump, nothing is really guaranteed in my eyes. I wonder what they give more weight to- GPA or TEAs scores? Anxiously waiting to hear what will happen!!

Hello all. So I got a 69 on that dang TEAS. Horrible. I thought I would do better, the grammar kinda messed me up, and YES the science did as well. There were so many chemistry questions.Horrible. I know last semester they had a 64% cutoff, it says only for fall 2011. So i'm not sure if this year there is no cutoff as to applying, or if it is the same still? Anyways, I did study the study manual quite a bit and I guess it didnt help me much. Not quite sure. My GPA is a 3.7. I wish everyone good luck.
