BA.LVN

Hello all! I am a new LVN, jobless still......I have no previous healthcare experience other than the wellness screenings I've been a part of for the last few months (as a contractor). I have my BA....but I was wondering if volunteering at a local hospital would be good for my resume. Ideally,it would have been better if I had done this while STILL in nursing school, but I didn't. Any thoughts? Is this ok to do since I am already licensed but would be volunteering on a nursing unit doing clerical duties most likely? I don't have many "LVN connections" (but I have let my fellow classmates who are now working know I'm looking.....as well as ANYONE my husband/family may know). Thank you and any advice to "beef up" my resume in hopes of it helping me find a job would be appreciated!!!

Hi,
Personally I would rather see you get some face time with recruiters in your area and find the paying job you are licensed to do. I'm not sure about your area but here jobs are plentiful, especially in LTC which often is where LPNs get their foot in the door and gain experience before moving on to a different speciality. Good luck!
