I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. You can't work as an LPN unless you have graduated from an accredited program AND passed the Nclex-PN. However, being in an high school LPN program, you can probably work as a CNA (certified nurses aide) after you completed so much of your program AND passed the certification exam for nursing assistants. I worked as a CNA my senior year of high school to pay for college. It wasn't always easy, but it was great experience for the nursing world. Is that what you were asking?--Marci

not quite, I meant upon passing the NCLEX and after gradauting from the LPN program, can I work as an LPN? I will have my high school diploma and my license (when I pass the NCLEX-PN). oh yea, I am a CNA. But I don't want to work as a CNA. I rather finish the program and work as LPN.

Once you pass the Nclex-PN and have a license, you most certainly can work as an LPN:)
I wish I had a high school program like you do. Keep working hard. It will pay off in the end.

Wow. just completed my first week in nursing school and I feel like I'm back in the Bachelor's of Nursing Program I used to be in when I was living in Hawaii. (didn't finish so I could have my baby)I attend a LVN program out of a community college here in central Texas and I already have like 3 papers to write and a few assignments and synopsis. They seem very determined to get you critically thinking. It's great but I guess one should never assume a "vocation school" means you mainly will be doing 'hands on'-it does mean that but there still is a lot of written work and papers in the program I'm in. I guess that says something about the caliber of the program!

Hi! I'm starting my LPN program in April. It's a 1 year hospital program.
I have 2 small children at home, and they've been used to me at home with them, so this will be a big adjustment for all of us, but so worth it in the long run! My husband is really supportive, which is wonderful.
I'm very anxious/excited to get started!

Congratulations!! You'll do great!! I remember when i first started my LPN program, i was so nervous!! The program that i am in is extremely demanding, but it's so worth it in the end. I can't wait till it's over...only one more month until i graduate!!!

I got accepted to Shawsheen Valley Tech LPN program in Massachusetts. I start at the end of August. I am excited, but a little nervous. it's a 10 month program and it is known to be extremely difficult.
