KMP77: Daytonite is pretty much our resident expert here. A nurse with many years of experience, and obviously a ton of knowledge, she has answered your questions several times. Go back to some of the previous threads you have posted and read her replies. Print them out; use them as your guide.
Get the college course catalog; make an appointment with a counselor; get your high school transcripts sent over; call Admissions and see where you are in the admissions process.
All of that must be done first. They will guide you from there for your specific college.
Best wishes!!
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, Bergen Community College is where I took all my pre and co req's. They also have a nursing program. I have applied, but did not har back from them yet (but I will soon).
I also applied at Holy Name Hospital which has a nursing program, and I have been accepted there already, but I would prefer to go to Bergen CC due to the cost - since I am not working while I attend school.

Well, I maintained a 4.0 - but I studied a lot. Co-requisite courses are not nursing courses - but courses you take with nursing courses - no need to take beforehand. For me, the day program at Bergen, co-reqs were AP2, two humanities electives, psy1, dev psy, sociology, wellness and exercise (like a gym class), microbiology and that's it. Actually, I did not take micro - I will take that next summer. Unless I did not get into Bergen. Holy Name gives micro as part of the course.
So, where did you apply?

I just saw this section!? Im still checking out all the diff sections and didnt realize this is where I prob should be posting LOL. Im not in school, but I want to be a nurse SO bad...a L&D nurse. I didnt do good in HS, but others have told me that's ok. Its the college classes that count. Which makes me feel much better. I just hope I can get into a school! I guess the 1st step is calling and making an appt with a counselor? Do I explain I want to take the courses I need to get into a nursing school? And once I pass those classes THEN I apply to nursing schools right? I want this SO bad!
A little about me. Im 30 and a SAHM to 3 kids. 10, 5 and almost 3. I have a wonderful hubby and we live in NJ.
I know it's not going to be easy, everyone keeps telling me how hard it'll be. But I really want this!
