I have an interview this Friday for this job. I applied because a friend that I went to nursing school with started working there and just went on and on about how much she loves the job and the company! I actually came on here tonight to see what there was to find about it from other sources.
Mkwambold-
how did it go? anyone else here working at home with Humana? I was hired for RN cm WAH. I start Jan 5th with training in FL.
So nervous but hoping this will be a good job, I've always wanted to work from home.
I'm wondering what training entails and what the daily job looks like. Any input?
Thanks!
Will you elaborate?
I worked from home for Humana for 1 yr and it was TERRIBLE!! I worked in the capacity for Utilization Review and onsite review. Case loads were unmanageable, management was not supportive. Training was "learning the computer and the software, you would use to input your clinical documentation. NOT your actual job. It was sink or swim. Its hard not being in the office, having a cubie to look over at a co-worker for a quick question. If you are at home, everything is communicated via IM, and usually it takes the front line leader so long to respond, because she is busy in the office doing things there, and have stepped away from her desk. And you are needing help. Too many conference calls. I have experience with UR, utilizing M&R criteria, but I have never experienced anything like Humana and its culture. Not sure is you will be working from home or not, or which office. I was so stressed out, I put in many hours. They measured your performance by metrics, how long it took you to close out a case. Its all monitored by the computer. And comparison's to other regions. Best thing I could have done to regain my sanity was to resign, and not look back, and regain my confidence. Good luck
