Rutger accelerated nursing 2011

U.S.A. New Jersey

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post. I just got accepted to the Rutgers Accelerated BSN program and I am eager to talk with my new classmates. I am not sure how many of us there are, but I am super excited about this summer. :yeah:

Well, nice to meet you classmate! I got my acceptance letter on Thursday! I am beyond ecstatic as I only applied to one school!!! Do you have any challenge exams to take? I think that's my next step. Let me know if you receive additional information (orientation, class registration, etc.). I think we need 20+ posts to send personal messages here, so feel to send me an email, [email protected].

Congratulations!

Vicki

Congratulations to you to Vicki! I only applied to one school as well. I need to test out of the Cultural Dimensions class. What about you? Ive been trying to look up information online about the orientation, but it looks like the still have the information up from last year. Hopefully they send it out soon.

I need to challenge the same class. I heard it would be easy. I just want to make sure I pass it before I officially quit my FT job. I need to give 4 weeks notice, so it's cutting it close.

While I have your attention, maybe I can pick your brain. How are you financing this? Did you get financial aid? Applying for private loans? I was denied federal aid, so I think my best bet is private loans. I think our first tuition bill may be due in mid-May, which I can handle. It's the rest of the semester that I need help financing. Your thoughts?

Vicki

At the info session in the fall they said that class was pretty easy to pass out of, so hopefully that is true.

As far a financing, I didn't get financial aid. I have some money saved, but was thinking about looking into a student loan for extra help. Sorry that I can't be more help, I haven't really done much research on it yet.

Hooray! I got in as well! I was obsessively checking the admissions status page and *bam* there it was! I guess you received a packet in the mail which provided you more information? The status page isn't giving me any info about classes I need to test out of or any financial aid stuff. I can't wait to go home and see :)

I applied to a few other NYC based programs and haven't heard back yet. I may wait to accept until I do since a commute from Queens to Newark is intense...

Lovely to "meet" you all!

Congrads!! I haven't received any information yet, so I'm still in the dark too. I paid my enrollment fee on Saturday so hopefully something will be in the mail soon. :)

Hello again, quick question: What kind of chemistry classes did you all take? I only took general chem and I'm wondering if they are counting it for biochem since they admitted me. I also need to test out of nutrition, which makes my ability to start in May dicey... I hope to hear back from Rutgers soon about what they want me to finish up!

Obsession? I was checking my status online at least 10 times a day! I took Chem I and II and they accepted it for biochem, I guess!

I didn't receive anything about enrollment fees. I'm still waiting on financial aid, if I even get any. If not, I need to apply for private loans and apply for scholarships.

Because I couldn't wait, I went ahead and emailed the Admins to request for more info about the challenge exam. If you need to take Cultural Dimensions, I have the syllabus and info and I can forward them to you. Send me an email at [email protected]. As for the other courses, you may have to email Denise at [email protected] or Lou at [email protected]. It's a good thing I acted fast. I'm still taking 2 pre-reqs, got finals and papers to write and now read a textbook for the Challenge exam...in the next month!!

Hello to all,

I will also be joining you in a few weeks. Very much looking forward to it and to meeting my classmates.

I also pestered Denise quite a bit for information and I have some info for 3 of the challenge exams, Nutrition & Health, Human Interactive, and Cultural Dimensions. She mentioned (both on telephone and by e-mail) that Cultural Dimensions is being reworked now and they may not require the exam. Or they may allow us to complete it during the summer. If anyone wants any of this info, you may e-mail me. [email protected]

Denise also told me that orientation would be the morning of May 11 and it would be held in Newark. This may be a tentative date, however. Classes are scheduled to begin May 31.

Interesting, I emailed her last week regarding Cultural Dimensions, and she said that there would be a test and a 2-4 page take home essay. She also said that we would have until mid- august to complete them. Jesse, do you think they may just require the essay now?

-Rachel

Hi guys, Regarding they have a firm date now. I received an email saying it will be on May 11, at 9 in Newark. What are you guys doing for parking? Do you think we will qualify for visitor parking or be able to park In one of the student lots?
