New Jersey Nurses ... Help!!!

Published

I'm hoping there is a nurse out there somewhere in the state of NJ that can help me.

I am moving from MA to NJ with my husband for his job, and I am trying to transfer my Nurse Practitioner license to the state of New Jersey. I have scoured google as well as the state of New Jersey's website and I CAN NOT for the life of me find anything that says what I need to do to transfer. NJ's website just keeps me going in circles and bringing up info that has nothing to even do with nursing. :banghead:

I have never transferred a license before so I am totally clueless!

Secondly, do I have to reside in NJ to transfer my license? Or can I work in MA while my transfer is in process, because I am staying behind at least for a little while to try to sell our house.

ANY info would be SUPER appreciated!

i know! nj bon website is confusing. it used to be more user friendly but they modified it recently.

anyway, here is the link for the site where the application link is located for both rn and apn.

http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/nursing/nur_applications.htm

maybe you can call them to ask whether you can apply for endorsement now? better get the info from horse's mouth, right? i heard nj takes a while to process endorsements.

cheers,

angel

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Who would have thunk that Nursing LICENSE info would be under Div. of Consumer affairs rather than LICENSING ... sheeesh.

This state's gonna kill me.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the maps in NJ LIE!!! :chuckle

My hubby and I were truck drivers for 5 years, so I can definitively state that they LIE like a bad rug......Especially around the Secaucus area.....OK, off my rant...For now, anyway.........:smokin:

come on down! (and over, of course.....)

Hey I just moved here as well. You are able to apply for licensure here by endorsement. Mine has not been finished yet because they give you quite a run around with fingerprints. If you are out of state, they will send you cards to do in your home state. Once you get here, NO police station will fill those cards out- they send you to the electronic place NJ uses. Problem is, to get an appointment there, your address needs to be within state. It's so backwards. Good luck!!!

:yeah:YAY! NJ! haha. I live about 5 minutes from Cherry Hill! Wonderful area :-)

Congrats~!
