If diseases like AIDS and bird flu scare you, wait until you hear what's next. Doctors are trying to find out what is causing a bizarre and mysterious infection that's surfaced in South Texas.
Morgellons disease is not yet known to kill, but if you were to get it, you might wish you were dead, as the symptoms are horrible.
"These people will have like beads of sweat but it's black, black and tarry," said Ginger Savely, a nurse practioner in Austin who treats a majority of these patients.............more at the link above.
Anyone heard of this? Sounds really bad.
From the Morgellons website:
Now I don't know much about anything - but that picture shore looks dodgy to me.
-- That check looks fake - for starters.
-- Some of the peoples "heads" don't match up right with the background - in terms of shading and lighting.
-- Edges are too fuzzy.
-- Why is the lettering on the right so out of focus, yet the gentlemen's faces aren't?
All this and more...

The MySanAntonio article reeked of urban legend, but the journal articles seemed articulately worded and frankly boring enough to be real journal articles.
I did see an issue with the MySanAntonio article; the two meds mentioned by one of the patients: Tamadone and Viltricide. I have a pretty good head for meds and I had never heard of these. I did a google and yahoo search and found no resources describing these meds; most of the references were reprints of the MySanAntonio article. And the meds were mentioned in regards to an American patient so surely there should be a reference somewhere. That bothers me.
I searched my favorite urban legend sites had nothing on this disease so I don't know.
I remain skeptical. Seems a little sketchy.
