LPN Program

Does anyone have ( or know of anyone) who has attended the New England Practical School of Nursing in Manchester NH? I was wondering what the program was like and possibly what type of interview questions are asked. Whenever I call them they seem very busy and are somewhat abrupt..and at times bordering on rude and I'm concerned whether or not this is a program worth attending.

Hi - I inquired the same question not long ago. Unfortunatly I only got 1 response. :(

I looked at the one in Salem. Made an appointment went there and found it not to be what I wanted. Not to mention their scores where alarming.

I did do the same in for this place and I am happy to say I will be attending in Jan. 08. When I was their on an appt to meet with them and see their facility upon leaving I ran into several others who are enrolled for there LPN program. I was fortunate enough to have them answer questions I had about the program and school. You can pm if you have any questions.

Also, I know currently they have just started another LPN program so there's LOTS going on with them. I sent them info via snail mail. If you leave them a message they will get back to you. At least thats what I experienced. Overall I found them very professional, detailed and caring about EACH student. Hope that helps. Good luck where ever you decide for schooling!

Maybe that explains it..they do sound very busy or at least I get that impression. I did see that their pass rate for the NCLEX was high. I am interviewing with them soon...so I hope it's the right choice. How do I PM you?

I am in the LPN program at NHTI in concord and my clinical instructor whom I think the world of and admire very much works for the New England school of practical nursing and reccomends it.....Hope this helps :)

If I were you I would stay away from the school in Salem....my class just attended the board of nursing PUBLIC meeting on Sept 20th and they had a lot of issues going on with them and yes there are the NCLEX scores that are very scary also.

Also FYI we heard some alarming things about a school in Nashua Holden Health Institute and St. Joseph's in Nashua also had low NCLEX scores on what the board called a interim report, they were in the 60% range and may not get accredited.

Hope this info helps and does not look like I am bashing the schools I just do not want to see anyone loose money on a crappy education

Thank you! That is very encouraging and I'm looking forward to the program. My ultimate goal is to become a registered nurse and I decided to take this route due to the long wait lists with some of the colleges. At least I can work as an LPN while trying to get into a RN program.

Both post from you and HTmommy are helpful and I'm feeling as though this is the program for me!

Good points Kelly - when I went to First Choice in Salem I was told the exam results from prior months were not done so the results were unknown they told me prior was in the high 60's. That is alarming. I was reading the Sept 2007 exam results they are at 83.3 from 4/107-6/30/07 30 candidates and 25 passing. Overall in the past from 8/05 to 6/30/07 they are at a 69.86 passing. UGHH. The others you mentioned are listed in their as well.

If anyone wants to view the schools you can look them up in NH board and see there standings.

I totally agree with you Kelly. As we are spending money to earn an education we want to be prepared for the test. Not just tossing out the hard earned green for nothing.

BTW - where are you currently going?

I am enrolled in my 3rd and final semester at NHTI concord....it is a good program and a tough one. One of my clinical instructors also teaches at NE practical school of nursing. She is a tough instructor but if you are dedicated and work hard you will learn A LOT from her and the program.....GOOD LUCK!!
