I finished boards already and haven't really been told how long it takes for license. Anyone know??
Do you have to wait for something from nclex results or can you send in application and $50 for license ahead of time??
I can't start my job until I have my name on website so I'm super anxious about it!
Anyone have any info whatsoever on how long license in hand takes??

License in hand takes 12-16 weeks. I have a friend who works in the IDFPR office and that's what he does.
You should pop up on the website pretty quickly though. My co-workers have said they popped up on the website within a few days.

Thanks so much! I sent my results in to idfpr almost 2 weeks ago. Hoping my name is up sometime this week!

Looks like I found your post! I hope your name is posted this week and you get your license there shortly after! I really hope it doesn't take 12 weeks like another poster mentioned! That would be nuts!! But I guess as long as your license number is on the website, it wouldn't matter! Best of luck:)

Average time is about 4 weeks after you send in, not 12.
Was issued my license yesterday (6/11/13). So here's my timeline in case anyone is interested and reads this....
5/15/13- received ATT
5/21/13- took boards
5/28/13- received official pass letter from CTS
5/28/13- mailed results to IDFPR same day with $50 money order
6/11/13- license posted on IDFPR website
Not bad for the state of Illinois!

hopefully mine takes about the same time as yours. i sat for NCLEX on the 19th of june, i am hoping to appear on the idfpr before the 14th of july. we have only one RN orientation a month and i really don't want to wait until august to start. unfortunately the official pass letter is not enough to start working

Will the new grads share where they were able to find jobs? I've applied to over 100 and had one phone interview, but no luck so far.

The market is tight in this area though.. Best of luck!

Sounds like those are probably all BSN grads, am I right? I know most or all of those hospitals don't hire ADNs anymore.
