New Grad Starting in Outpatient??

Hi everyone,

I am a newly graduated nurse living in the CA bay area.  I am having a difficult time trying to find my first job despite applying to numerous positions and hospital new graduate programs.  My passion and dream is to become a labor and delivery, mother/baby, or postpartum nurse as women's health and obstetrics is what led me to pursue nursing in the first place.  Due to my lack of success in the job search process, I have began to consider other avenues.  One avenue that has peaked my interest is that of a surgery nurse in an IVF fertility clinic. 

If I begin my career in a facility outside of the hospital, will this limit my ability to ever work in the hospital later on down the line? 

Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
