Hello! Mass seems to be having issues with new grads not being able to find employment, so I was wondering what the situation is like in RI. Are the hospitals through the state still actively hiring new grads or are new grads having a hard time finding employment there as well?
I ask because we may be moving to the area very soon after I graduate. Thanks!

Don't move to RI. The economy is one of the worst in the country, cost of living is out of control, and job availability is at an all time low. There isnt much opportunity for new grads, either.
Oh, and did I mention the weather is terrible?
Sorry to be so negative but I hope that helps in some way.
Just a thought--have you checked out Connecticut? I don't know about their new grad situation but it may be worth checking into.

I moved to RI 15 years ago from the south. I LOVE the weather in RI and New England is SO beautiful. If you've never experienced the east coast it's a great place to see. You have the ocean and the mountains all within driving distance. As for work, I didn't have a problem finding a hospital job as a new grad, however any other setting (MD office, dialysis, etc) may be challenging. Best of luck!:)
