Hi all!
I was wondering what the starting salary is for a new nurse grad in the psychiatric care setting. I tried searching the forums but could not find relevant information. I have my BA in psych and will hopefully start working on my RN license from city college. I will be working in Los Angeles area.
Also, if you don't mind telling me if you have your associates, bachelors, etc and how many years you have been working
Thank you!
Forgot to add: I have a BSN, new grad in psych! My coworkers keep telling me they don't make nearly enough but if I calculate correctly they are probably making $40-45/hr with $4 extra for nights and that sounds good to me. But I also don't have things like a family to support and I don't have any debt.
I am a new grad with a BSN right outside of Chicago. I work full time on a psych unit at a community hospital and they started me at $30.25 for 3-11pm shift. I also work registry at a psych hospital and my rate there is $31.00/hr if I work 5 shifts a month or $35.00/hr if I work 12 shifts a month plus shift differentials of $2.00 for 3-11pm $4.00 for 11-7am and $4.00 for weekends. I am content with my pay rate at this point and the cost of living isn't terrible.

I'm a fresh grad and landed a job as a Psych nurse here in Sacramento, CA. I started at 31.25 (w/o prior experience), plus $2 pm and weekend differential, and $3.00 night differential. Not the greatest pay but not too bad for a new grad.
