New Grad RN's - Letter From the Board of Registered Nursing

Hey all of you fellow New Grads! I was just wondering if anyone else was randomly selected to complete a survey for the Board of Registered Nursing regarding the hiring difficulty we are experiencing. I just completed my survey and it feels pretty good to know that the Board of Registered Nursing is aware of what is going on and seeking our input!

I don't know if anything will come of this, but we can hope. Check your mail and fill out a survey if you got a letter!

Filled out and hoping for a positive change!

Just received it today as well. I'll be filling it out tonight. Good to know the BON is aware of, and concerned about, the new grad situation!

How long after becoming licensed did they send the survey?

How long after becoming licensed did they send the survey?

I think it said people that were licensed after September 2012 were randomly selected. I was licensed in March of this year in my home state, and then received my CA license via reciprocity in April.

The following is the intro, prior to beginning the survey: Dear Recent RNGraduate,

We invite you to participate in a survey regarding your experience in obtainingemployment as a registered nurse. The purpose of the survey is to determine howserious the problem is for newly licensed RNs in California to obtainemployment as a nurse. Your participation is completely voluntary, no names orpersonal information will be shared, and survey results will be reportedanonymously in the aggregate. Data will be shared with service and academicnursing leaders and organizations working on strategies which support andexpand opportunities for new graduate hiring.

We urge you to take the time to complete this survey, as the data obtained isvery important. Thank you for your participation.

Wow that's awesome! I wish they would do that for the rest of the country.
