Hey y'all! I just recently passed my Hawaii boards but I am cureently a resident of Texas. I was wondering what my chances of getting a new grad Rn job in hawaii will be? Thanks y'all!

I hate to assume, but I guess I AM assuming that you scoped out the employment prospects, housing options and all that before you planned to move there? What do you know so far about your odds?

Lovely place, but it doesn't look very promising for a new grad, unfortunately.

What kind of position are you looking for, and on which island?

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

You have not mentioned what type of degree you have (ADN or BSN).

Employment prospects for new grads in Hawaii have been dismal for the past five or six years, if not longer. Generally, nursing jobs are not abundant for new grad RNs in highly desirable places where many people actually want to live.

I have a BSN. I see that now from the other threads that was linked above. I read from other websites previously that healthcare jobs is very in demand there but I guess that doesn't include new grad RNs.

Wherever unit I can get a job. We were thinking of moving to Oahu. I'm moving with my Husband who has 4 years experience as an RN.
