Hello everyone,
I applied for the Doctors Medical Center new grad program in Modesto as well as Washington Hospital in Fremont on Jan. 10. I have yet to hear anything. I was just wondering if anyone else applied and has heard anything. Thanks so much!

I also applied to Washington Hospital and have yet to hear anything. I believe they are being slammed with pts right now, so it may be a couple weeks before we hear anything, so hopefully that also means they will be hiring a lot of new grads.
Thanks TIWRN. I hope you're right............

I also applied. My status says : Application forwarded to manager.
But it's said that for a while now and I haven't heard anything.

You would have received a phone call from the new grad program in Modesto a couple of weeks ago if you were selected. Also, the HR director told me that if you precepted there, you have a higher likelihood of being granted a position.
As far as the Washington Hospital, they are conducting interviews next week and the following week. They are currently notifying candidates via phone. Apparently, there will be "large interviews" conducted with 5-6 candidates interviewed at one time. There are 60 candidates being interviewed for the first round, and then for the second round, there will be 25-30 candidates interviewed together. Overall, they will be selecting 12 individuals for the residency program.
Does anyone know of anyone that has gone through Washington's "large interview"? I'm curious as to how the interview will be conducted and whether or not a scenario/simulation will be included with the interview.
Thank you so much for the information. Best of luck.

@TIWRN May I ask what you think made your friend stand out from other applicants to be chosen for an interview? Did they have prior healthcare experience or precept at Washington? Thank you.
Hey du_girl,
I also got a call from Washington hospital yesterday for an interview. What makes me think application stood out? Knowing someone that works at the hospital. It really does seem to matter to getting the interview, which is the hardest part because really, we are all qualified. Network, network network! It is hard to stand out from hundreds of applicants.
Speaking for my friends application and mine, both of us have previous healthcare experience, Nursing is our second degree, both ACLS certified. My friend is overall amazing: has certs out her wahzoo, is part of different nursing associations and still has a hard time getting interviews. So, yeah, networking is the key!
Also, getting a hold of the Nursing Manager or Nurse Recruiter has helped people in getting interviews. I had one nurse recruiter say that calling her meant she actually looked at the application, which given the amount of applications, she probably wouldn't have looked at it otherwise. So when you apply, call and get a hold of someone and that way they look at your application before they make a decision.
Congrats TIWRN! Good luck on your interview :)
