2 New Grad Programs in Bay Area

Hello everyone,

I applied for the Doctors Medical Center new grad program in Modesto as well as Washington Hospital in Fremont on Jan. 10. I have yet to hear anything. I was just wondering if anyone else applied and has heard anything. Thanks so much!

I have a question for you, I noticed that you are located in Pittsburgh... is that correct? I know that a lot of these new grad programs will usually only contact applicants who are located nearby (ie Washington Hospital). Not all hospitals are like this, but it may be hindrance in getting a response...

Yes. I know. I am in Pittsburgh but for my apps and resume I use my parents' address in the bay area because I know how important location is when applying for jobs. Not to mention I went to nursing school in the bay area and I know someone who works at Washington. Perhaps it was just not meant to be for me there........

Okay good. I used my father's address as well (I live in the Bay Area, he just happened to be closer to the hospital) if I get the job, I plan on moving closer.

My scenario is the opposite of you, I went to nursing school in Philly and I'm now back in the Bay. You couldn't get to move back to PA though, be safe in that snow.

This is a tangent, but Modesto a part of the "Bay Area"? It's smack in the central valley!

I called Washington HR today and while they weren't too helpful they told me that the nurse managers are still contacting people for interviews, soooo there may be some hope! I am crossing my fingers!! :)

has anyone heard yet from washington hospital? i also applied and my application status says forwarded to manager up until now :((

A friend of mine has an interview at Washington already. So I'm guessing they have picked the people they will be interviewing.

They are doing interviews this week. I also know they got 700 applications and are only interviewing 60 people for 12 spots.
