New Grad Orientation Mount Sinai, Miami

I start at Mount Sinai in Miami, FL on Monday 7/26 for their new grad nurse orientation. Anyone else who will be starting as well? I haven't received anything on a schedule, preceptor, etc. or anything at all from HR. All of my onboarding docs are complete, employee health visit and drug screening done, but still nothing. Just wanted to know if there is anyone else in the same boat.

Congrats! No worries, orientation is easy and they teach everything you need to know. I don't think you need to prep anything ahead really. Just make sure you come on time, and pay attention during presentations:)

Oh, the only thing I would mention is that on 3rd day they give a small medication test. So if you are not 100% sure on your med calculations (IV drip rates, etc) I would go over those.

Question, so Monday I received a call from an HCA hospital called Westside Regional about setting up an interview. Since I hadn’t heard back from Mount Sinai I went ahead and set it up for Friday (9/3/21) because I didn’t want to put all my eggs in one basket. Tuesday I received a call from my recruiter regarding an offer for the 9/20/21 class. So I accepted the offer from Mount Sinai because I didn’t want to say no and things didn’t work out with the HCA hospital. So today I had my interview with Westside and it went well and I’m suppose to hear something from them as soon as Tuesday (because Monday is a holiday). If selected it will be for the StaRN program under HCA and I went to an HCA school for LPN-RN so I’m familiar with the system. Also it’s a lot closer to where I live, they PAY for you go back to school at Galen University because HCA bought Galen and they are under a network where I believe Mount Sinai is private. So if I were to relocate in the future which I plan on doing I can just apply with another HCA hospital and keep my benefits and time. So there are a lot of pros with this hospital. My question is would I be held accountable to pay anything back to Mount Sinai if I’m chosen for Westside’s program and I accept that one? I haven’t started orientation, it isn’t until 9/20… need help ????

Hi! I recently just accepted a position for LD and I wanted to know what the nurse dress code is. Might be dumb question but can I wear cute badge reels or badge buddy holders. I saw somewhere saying they are strict but not sure if that meant the badge reels 🤣
