  1. When I was in nursing school, there were rumors going around that one clinical instructor outright told all the exam answers to her students (they all became straight "a" students overnight). I was working then about 60 hrs per week, while going to nursing school full time. I had to spend many sleepless nights to study. It felt demoralising to know that someone came in into exam room with all the answers ready. But I kept my eyes on a prize, and tried to not dwell in neg emotions too much. I fell your pain, OP. But it really will do you no favors if you keep pushing it. You have to continue working with the same instructor for at least one semester and she can do your life a lot more difficult, if she so choses. Also, nursing is a small world, you never know if you'll end up working with her on the same floor one day. So my advise is to move on.
  2. Congrats! No worries, orientation is easy and they teach everything you need to know. I don't think you need to prep anything ahead really. Just make sure you come on time, and pay attention during presentations:) Oh, the only thing I would mention is that on 3rd day they give a small medication test. So if you are not 100% sure on your med calculations (IV drip rates, etc) I would go over those. Good luck!
  3. congrats!! welcome to the RN world)
  4. Oh no, definitely not until Monday, so enjoy your weekend:)
  5. Hi Kerra0530, I had an interview with the unit manager on Friday and she told me right then and there that it was a "yes" from her. However, recruiter did not reach out to me until Monday next week. Good luck!
  6. I would suggest to study the areas you are not 100% comfortable in, so that you an be a better nurse for your patients, and a better colleague for your coworkers
  7. Thank you very much for the update! Sorry for the late answer, I was away form my comp for a couple of days. Im excited to start, best of luck on Monday ?
  8. Im in telemetry. It was either cardiac nursing or L&D for me, had very good clinicals on those units, and hope I will enjoy my work
  9. thank you! yes, I will be in miami beach, 6th tower, I believe. what about you? I tried to PM you, but somehow I cant send any personal messages, maybe because im still new on this forum:(
  10. If you do get response, please let me know. I will email as well, but as you said, they don't always answer them) Also, did you do your background check yet? Mine is pending for few days now, and their website says its usually about 48 hrs.
  11. Hi Sel999, Congrats on your new position ? Honesty I have exact same questions and so many more:))) I don't even know where and when to go on 8.23. I know that some hospitals in the area do parts of the orientation online, I wonder if its the same with MSMC as well? Either way, I hope recruiters will provide us with all the necessary info next week.
  12. Would you mind sharing the details of your orientation/training with Mount Sinai? I start on 8/23 and a bit nervous) I would like to make sure I prepare best for it. I am most interested in learning about EPIC test. My job offer included condition that I must pass it to secure the job. What was it like? Anything particular to study beforehand? Thank you in advance!
