  1. For the physical, they just do a urine screen. Nothing invasive. No blood. No stripping down or anything at all. They don't go in with you or watch. They did not ask about the Covid vaccine. The first week is just general orientation. Then the next week you go to your unit. Don't stress!
  2. oh wow, did you used to work at Mount Sinai? Or is this typical of hospitals in South Florida?
  3. I start at Mount Sinai in Miami, FL on Monday 7/26 for their new grad nurse orientation. Anyone else who will be starting as well? I haven't received anything on a schedule, preceptor, etc. or anything at all from HR. All of my onboarding docs are complete, employee health visit and drug screening done, but still nothing. Just wanted to know if there is anyone else in the same boat.
  4. Yeah! It starts Monday 7/26, but I haven't anything on orientation yet. Have you heard anything about It?
  5. They asked me things like described a time you helped a co-worker in need, a prioritization question, what are things your manager should know about you, etc.
  6. I am torn!! I was offered ICU at Mount Sinai, and a position in a different hospital. Mount Sinai seems to be notorious for paying less than market, but giving great experience - esp to new grads. Can anyone speak to what staffing, orientation, time off, etc. is like?
  7. Does anyone know if mother/baby is postpartum, L&D, high risk? All? Trying to decide between two offers, and I'm not sure what part of "mother baby" they mean
  8. they are still conducting interviews! they said we should hear Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
  9. I had my interview yesterday as well. It sounds like today is the last day of the first round interviews. I was surprised that it starts so early too- online it's advertised as only starting in March and October. I was told if you can't get your NCLEX schedule the first/second week of July (they need your license by July 12th), then you can reinterview for the fall cohort.
