New Grad. Now how to find work?

Hi all, I am new here. Just graduated fr Emory in Atlanta, and looking to move back north, or out west, or anywhere but here!

I take my NCLEX next month. But not sure of how to find a job. Too many online recruiters and each time I subscribe to an online RN search, the daily returns show more recruiters and clicking on their links show they want experienced RN's, not new grads.

I keep hearing that there is a nurse shortage, so why am I having a problem? Where are the jobs for new grads?

Help!?

OH, I'm going thru the same problem, here in NY. I hope you read this post soon cause I have some info for you, Saint Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers in NY, Ny is having a nrsg recruting fair

http://www.svcmc.org/body.cfm?id=1400, that's the link, the fair is for new grads and experienced RN's. Try NY presbyterian, Jamaica hospital in Qns, or go onto HHC.com, they have stuff there!!! Good Luck, I'm not having much as a LPN ( new grad)

I spent this whole morning reading how that is not unusual for LPN's. I'm sorry to hear you having this problem. Thanks for the tips. Wonder if anyone is willing to do long distance interviewing/hiring???

Thanx so much gt4everpn for this info. I have been looking for open houses for the past month since graduating. I will be attending this open house. I just wanted to know if anyone has any info about this hospital as far atmosphere? pay? orientation? are they receptive to new grads? are they on 8 or 12 hour shifts? Any info would be extremely helpful thanks.

Specializes in psych, long term care, developmental dis.

Have you thought about applying at a local VA hospital? Working for our vets and some of our active duty personnel. Once you get on you can work any postion or work anywhere in the nation. Great benefits and pay, and the vets appreciate the nurses. What a great way to pay back our HEROS.

Thread was started in 2004, and date of last post is Jun 12, 2007. I bet they've found jobs by now. :)

just to piggyback on the VA idea to anyone else that may be reading this post.. Found this
