I have a brand new job at a different facility and I am so happy.
My last job however ended awful, big city hospital and was hazed and eaten alive. I had to resign after a few months.
I explained to my brand new facility very professionally about leaving my last job. So of course I will be going through orientation. How do I explain this to my colleagues. I really don't want rumors and really want everything to go well.

You don't have to tell them anything. You can simply says "it was a bad fit". I wouldn't recommend getting into too many details or rumors. Nursing in some locations can end up with a lot of the same people working in different hospitals, and rumors can get back to the origins.

I have never asked or been asked the question "so why did you leave your last job?" outside of an interviee. People change jobs for a variety of reasons all the time. You are wayyyy over thinking this.

I don't remember ever discussing with colleagues why I left the job I just came from unless it was a natural discussion.

Nobody is interested in people's previous jobs. Don't bring up the topic. If it does come up, a vague "bad fit", will do. Unless you did something that made the news, there shouldn't be gossip.
