new grad, multiple offers,

Published

i'm a new grad who recently graduated with my bachelors degree in august and pasted my boards in october. i have been to 3 interviews since then and i was recently offered 2 postions from 2 different hospitals for the same type of unit. hospital a is a smaller hospital, it is not updated no medication cart, it smells a little funny, and i really did not have a good vibe when i walked onto the unit. it a big unit and they have problems with staffing their techs so you know what that means, i'm going to be doing double the work. and this unit is

a telemetry unit. and its further away from my home about an hour. it is a full time position. hospital b is also a small hospital but it just joined with [color=#4c4c4c]meridian health in nj. so even through their system is a little behind i know it will change and they

told me about all the changes they are going to have soon. this hospital is also a telemetry unit and also full time with benefits. hospital c i worked for them for 2 years

as a tech and i floated around the hospital. this hospital is much more advanced and it is morristown memorial hospital, although they did not offer me a position yet, the interviewer seemed really interested. this hospital did not offer me full time but a per dim with full time hours, no benefits. i don't know what hospital i should choose. i love hospital c but hospital b is also good also.

help any advice.

No brainer. Hospital B. There's a big difference between "seeming interested" and an actual job offer. Not to mention the fact that as a per diem nurse they don't have to guarantee your hours and I'm quite sure you won't get scheduled full time on a regular basis.

Per diem as a new grad nurse means you will not learn past your orientation, and, you will not get enough hours to eat and pay your bills. This type of job rarely turns into full time. Maybe it used to, but these days no. You'd be lucky to pay your gasoline bill.

I would take Hospital B benefits and they will be improving soon.

If it were me, it'd surely be B.

Go with the sure bet without any regret.

Good luck

Take Hospital B. It's a definite job, while there's no guarantee that Hospital C would ever make you an offer beyond per diem.
