You should have applied to UNC or Wake Med. Best ones in the area...Way better pay.
Yeah brier creek is wayyyyyyyyyy to expensive. I would look in chapel hill since its close to durham.Plus the crime is not as high like in durham.
yea!!! now after accepting the position i have noticed the pay difference.. i wanted a trauma center similar to where i went to school but i did not know about wake med... i might get a part time job b/c i like learning... maybe i will go there... thx:up:

Chapel Hill is going to be as expensive, if not more than Brier Creek. I lived in Durham for 7 years as a young adult and wondered why it got such a bad name. I loved it. If you look around Duke you can find some great neighborhoods that are bieng renovated and probably get a great deal on something. I love the charm and character of all of those old neighborhoods. Start on 9th street and work your way out. I'd give anything to be back there over where I am now (Phoenix). Good Luck!

I accepted a job at Duke as well! I am so excited!!! I am moving down from maryland and got a place in Brier Creek! I also just took boards this morning, so I am freaking out....done in 75 questions, but I think that just means you either failed with flying colors or passed like a champion...
I start July 21st....when is everyone else starting?
hey!!! thats good ... im pretty sure you passed..... :smokin:i start aug 4... i was starting the 21st but lease issues at home.. soooo i will be down there soon.. what unit are you working on?? im moving to colonial granad at trinity!! i hope its nice.. it seems a lot of college students live in the area

I started working at duke in April as a new grad in an ICU and it is amazing! I absolutely love it. I wouldn't worry about the money, they have so many different opportunities here...I couldn't be happier.
Thanks for the encouragement.......
