Hello out there! I'm a new grad RN excited to start in L&D this week. Any other new grads in L&D out there? Love to talk with you!
8 weeks intensive L/D alone may work......I had to do LDRP orientation. They gave me 3 months. NOT NEARLY ENOUGH.
I can't say for L/D alone. But I think still that is cutting it close. Hopefully, you are not really "on your own" truly after then.
But then, after 8 years, I still ask colleagues questions ALL THE TIME....even to recheck cervices if I have a weird or different result...I am not afraid to clearly understand my limits and "bounce things off" my coworkers to be sure.
I don't think I will ever stop doing that. The old saying 'two heads are better than one" is so true in OB.
The more heads the better when interpreting strips that are a bit out of the ordinary.
Hi all,
Hopefully I will join the ranks of L&D nursing. I am a new grad and applied for a position in L&D and I am just crossing my fingers that they will call me. You know how some institutions are regarding new grads in L&D. So please pray for me and send good vibes my way. I'm starting to feel just like nclex all over again... :rotfl: when I had to wait for the results that is.
