Nurses teach programs like that inpublic schools in NC, also, without any further education/certification as teachers, I believe.
My question would be whether, as a new grad, you really know/understand enough about how the larger healthcare world works to do a good job of teaching the class(es).
Also, be aware that the longer you hold a job like this rather than working in a "real" (clinical) nursing position, the harder it will be for you to get a "real" nursing position.
IMO (since you asked), this would not be a good choice for a new grad. I understand that times are hard and people "gotta do what they gotta do" to get along, but I would encourage you to not be too quick to jump on this just because it is an available opportunity. Best wishes for your journey!

Hello all!
I have been searching for a new grad position and stumbled upon a teaching position for my local high schools in health education, nursing education, medical terminology, etc... My question is would this be a good job for a new grad? I have my BSN and have a passion for teaching. My goal is to teach and work prn as a bedside nurse.
Any opinons are welcomed!!
Thank you!
