New grad job search in Boston Mass

Published

Hello,

I am graduating soon and moving to Boston Mass with my BSN ?best feeling ever. I would like begin my career in Boston, and I've begun my online research to find out who hires new grads. Ultimately, I am interested in critical care (I know this makes things harder) but priority is moving myself there and finding a job so I am deft ok with Med surg. Any natives here with friendly advice?

Thank you kindly.

BMC has a new grad program.

Beth israel hires new grads into their 'clinical nurse 1' positions. MGH is almost impossible to get into if you don't work there as a CNA. I have heard of new grads getting into Brigham and womens as well. Also the steward facilities are worth a try (carney in dorchester, st Elizabeths in brighton). Also spaulding hospital- they have an acute rehab in boston/charlestown, and a LTAC (vents, drips, tele) in cambridge.

Thank you !! Your reply came at an awesome time. I was at clinical shadowing an impressive nurse from Vermont. She said she had zero results after attempting to go to Boston as a new grad and I didn’t know if it was possible for me. But I will defiantly take your advice and look at those options, call and apply. I used to be a medical recruiter so I hope my perseverance will get me there!

Thank you kindly.

I just received my BSN also - Currently, I live in Houston, TX and have been here for over 3 years...I'm ready to go (I am originally from up north)! I was an LPN for 6 years and an ASN RN for 1 year and now I earned my BSN...I would like to get closer to home and move to Massachusetts. I heard Boston is a great place for RN's and I am ready to go. Thanks for the information @ivyleaf and good luck @ABSNnewgrad

Hello!
I am hopping on this thread because I really want to move to Boston post graduation. I graduate in December with my BSN. I am interetested in critical care, pediatrics, or ER but ultimately would do whatever if it was at a great hospital. My dream is to move to Boston asap but I have also heard it is very difficult to get a job there as a new grad, especially since I will be coming from out of state. Any additional tips on what I should start doing or places to apply in Boston?
