I have an interview Friday at a busy hospital. The position is for nights on a med surg floor. Can anyone help me with interview questions? Like types of questions they may ask, scenarios. I know they may ask about my strengths and weaknesses, I need help with weaknesses. I know I have weaknesses but not sure what would be a good answer and turn it positive. Anything will be helpful since this is my first interview ever. Pleaseee help! Thanks in advance!

HCAPS is a big things these days, and especially on a med-surg floor, its really important. When you are answering scenario questions, or relating your experiences, they are looking for customer service-y things, going above and beyond, and having good outcomes. Really play up the positive, and tell about the small helpful things you did as a student nurse, like holding someone's hand, getting extra comfort items, or taking the time to listen to the patient.

HCAPS = ????
Do a Google search. As a nurse you need to be comfortable looking things up. And I think the correct acronym is HCAHPS.... Either way, it's easy to find.....

Look up "behavioral interview questions." these are the most common questions. As for scenario, they will probably describe two patients and ask priority and delegation questions. Know what the scope of nursing if for a RN, LPN/LVN, CNA/NA. Good Luck! :)
Ps. Make sure to practice at least once before the interview, it helps :)

Have you ever had a clinical instructor evaluate you? If so, you should have come across some weaknesses that they should have pointed out to you right there, unless you're perfect :)
Those weaknesses can be turned into positives because hopefully you were aware and took steps to improve those weaknesses.
