Sorry your having a hard time getting a job. I guess its location. I just graduated from Excelsior College ADN program and I live in the Raleigh Area. I got job offers at 3 hospitals and chose Wakemed in Raleigh. How far are you from Asheboro. Can you try to apply at Randolph hospital? What about UNC? I know they are a little farther but you only have to work 3 days. I would also broaden your search and apply to clinics. Diaylysis clinic maybe hiring. If you can stick it out, you can wait on the hospitals but you may have to compromise till they call you. Times are tough and hospitals are cutting back. I wish you much success. Hope you get a call soon!

There are several Fresenius dialysis clinics in Greensboro & they always needs nurses. Stay away from the Henry Street clinic, but the others are alright. They do all on-the-job training. Another nursing student I know from Asheboro who is going to graduate in May is having a hard time as well finding a position. Don't forget about Alamance Regional & High Point Regional. DO NOT GO TO KINDRED in Greensboro. It is horrible! Keep trying & don't give up. You will find something, think positive.

Hi I'm BSN RN licensed in California and no working experience yet . I am planning to have my licensure by endorsement to North Carolina. I want to start seeking jobs in Raleigh but I have no idea how and where. I am hoping that you could help me on this. Thank and God bless:-)

The Raleigh area has some good hospitals. Wake Med & Rex Hospital in Cary are supposed to be good places to work. Duke is also close by in Durham. You should be able to find something at one of those places. They are always needing nurses, & Duke is really big. The VA hospital is also across the road from Duke Hospital. They only hire BSN nurses, so you should be try there as well. Wake Med's website is www.wakemed.org. Duke University should not be too hard to find online as well. Try their websites and monster.com can give you an idea of what is available as well. Good luck & I hope you find something you like!

Hey there. Sorry you are having such a hard time. If it makes you feel any better, us May grads are having trouble too! Baptist said they wouldn't know anything until after May 1 what positions they will have for May new grads. CMC Rehabilitation is having an open house on April 15 or 16 for a PRN pool, and they are considering new grads. You could check it out if you'd like?

I am a May graduate from a program owned by CarolinasHealthcare System. We have just been told this past week that even we won't have jobs from CMC and to try looking elsewhere. I have been living off my loans to finish school (since I knew I could get a job after graduation) and don't have time to spare for a job. I, like you, am not sure where to go next. We have looked everywhere through most of the Carolinas (North and South) and are still having trouble. I will keep you in my prayers and hope we both find something soon.

Have you tried any nursing homes or dialysis clinics? They may not be what you are hoping for but it's a start until something else opens up.

I applied at 4 hospitals in that area and the only one who called me was Baptist. I was so excited until she said that she had already hired a group of students so I needed to wait until May 1st to see what they have for openings at that time (so what was the point in calling me then???). When I asked her about how they conducted interviews for out-of-staters, she told me to wait to see first if there were any openings in May and then we'll talk. So I hope that turns out into something since SHE called me, but you just never know what's going to happen now a days.

It sounds like she is interested in you since she called you. Baptist is such a big place I'm sure that they will have some openings. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you & hope you find something soon. What other hospitals did you apply to?

I applied at MosesCones in Greensboro and they told me that they looked at my profile and filed my papers away (in otherwords, not interested in me). High Point Medical Center in High Point, they never called me. Forysth Medical which said they had received over 300 applicants and already hired 1/3rd of them so they have no New Grad positions available at all at this time and don't anticipate any openings in the near future. So I pray Baptist is going to work out, but I don't even have an interview yet. You'd think I would be a shoe in since I speak Spanish very fluently too and according to the census, Winston-salem has the largest hispanic population in all the state of NC, I have very good grades in class, and I have LPN experience already. So, I just don't know what they are looking for. Wish me luck and I pray for all of us to get a job!
