Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
Lol I'm not putting people down or being pessimistic about things. I'm just being realistic. It's not about being a Filipino or not. Just because I'm not painting a rosy picture does not mean I'm not a true Filipino. All I'm saying is it's not going to be a walk in the park as some people say it would be. It's going to take a lot of work for inexperienced nurses. I never questioned the general competency of Filipino nurses.
Hi! I just wrote Registered Nurse,Philippine Board of Nursing/ Professional Regulation Commission in # 11. If you took your NCLEX without SSN yet, then do not write it. You might be asked to submit a Validation of License by AHPRA which might cause you a problem later on.
Category of Registration: REGISTERED.
I hope this helps...
Googluck on your application.:)
Hi, I've been following this thread, although, I did not read all the messages here because this thread has already started since last year. I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines with no experience. We already received our PR visa and want to become a registered nurse in Ausi. I understand, that effective July 2010, there will be no more BP, but instead, a nursing conversion program will be replaced. This program will take you 1 year to study. My question is after having the nursing convertion program in a recognize school, does it mean that you can automatically apply to become a registered nurse in AHPRA? In one of their criteria, you still need 5 years experience to be able to apply as RN in AHPRA. Can anyone share some light on this? Thanks so much...
