Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I actually had the same experience but I was too persistent with my AHPRA case officer that I was able to have my LOE extended. It was supposed to expire on June 2012 but it was extended until November 2012.

Where did you lodge your papers? I lodged mine in Qld..

hi zdane.. wow, how did you do that? same here, i lodged my papers in Queensland too.. i hope they will grant me an extension.. if so, i'll go with ETEA's jan 2013 intake..

I just paid my tuition fee. Enrolled at Deakin via CPL route.

Will start on Feb. I used my brother's card. As to fees just search it in deakin website. Also, if you'll get an pffer letter it'll be included there.

Yeap, i'm for January 2013 intake at ETEA.. but i have a big problem with my LOE.. because it will expire this Oct 26 2012.. i dont know if i AHPRA will grant me an extension..

Credit prior learning longer than BP course. It'll take me a year to finish the course. Its an award course I think. Please correct me if wrong, guys.

Hi, to whom in AHPRA did yo request for an extension? and how did you go about asking for it? I was supposed to go to CON for July intake but was not able to due to visa problems. my letter will expire in September and still don have a confirmation on the next course.

just go to ahpra website and make an inquiry.. :) expect the reply in 1-2 days.. i explained my eligibilty status and the letter of offer.. eligibilty expires on oct 2012, while bp starts on january 2013.. that's why i badly need the extension. have you already paid your tuition to CON? what happened to your visa? in order for you to be granted an extension, you need to send your letter of offer too. :) good luck to us both :)
