New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I was also having a hard time navigating their website last night, the form for undergrad and postgrad seems to be exactly the same. I also tried registering in their ISIS something online application but I could not figure as well on how to start the application. Anyway I tried emailing them, still waiting for their response though.

ETEA's waiting list is still open guys..for those in dire need of a BP school..you could call etea to ask info..if they have many students on waiting list..they will open their last intake for 2011.. :)

called CON awile ago asking them if they have received my application. the kind lady checked her email and said yes. unfortunately, she mentioned that i'll be on the waiting list for the seond intake on 2012. i was shocked. so i went back to the AHPRA's website and googled every school that offered low bridging program fee. i emailed a lot of school. some gave a quick reply saying they're not doing BP this year. im confused. help me guys. my IELTS is due to expire in november! don't wanna take it again! :( still need to get that Senior first aid provider at red cross to be able to submit my application in HPH! if you know something that would ease my nerves kindly respond! haha! im glad we have a forum like this! :) hoping to hear for all of you soon!

11,900 AUD if I'm not mistaken :) Pretty expensive compare to other schools

I'm sorry to tell you that you have to sit the IELTS test again before you go through your BP. Even if you are able to enroll in a BP next month, your current IELTS test result will expire by the time you finish this course. AHPRA will require you a current IELTS test result before giving you your RN license. That's what my niece who finished her BP last year told me. Mercy Health (one of the BP schools) also told me. I recently took the IELTS test again a week ago because my current IELTS test result will expire this Sept. Please read my previous post about the recent changes in the IELTS. :o

oh dear, i don't know what to say. i could've missed your previous post, sorry. looking at the brighter side, i'll retake my IELTS this year and enroll for BP next year. it's kinda frustrating though. are you taking your BP at mercy health? i only have relatives in sydney that's why i have no choice but to enroll in CON.

thank you, joiemike. sigh.

My target is to get into Deakin January next year or maybe La Trobe. Since most schools are already full this year, I'm just making sure I'll get into next year bcoz my Ielts will expire by June. I hope that's enough time for the BP and registration then.

but you took your ielts already, im dreadful of taking mine again. tsk tsk. i don't know yet. i emailed ****** of hph regarding senior first aid cert, working with children cert and mrsa screening and here's her reply (she's quick in responding! kudos to her! haha!)

you do not need those documents at this time. i just need you to fill in the form and send it back to me. you can get senior first aid from red cross in the philippines . the working with children i would need to help you with when you get here. mrsa swab results from hands, nose & throat are needed again only if you get accepted.

im off to work. ill let you know once i heard from red cross. kindly update me too if you have info. thanks! :D
