I just graduated from an LPN Program last Thursday. I had my 1st job interview at a dialysis clinic today and was offered the job on the spot. I accepted the offer but still feel really hesitant. They offered me a full-time position at a rate of $16.00 an hour.
Do you think I am selling myself short by taking this job at that pay rate?
I really wanted to follow my instructors advice by going in to a med-surg unit in a hospital.
I am so confused!!!!! I am due to start August 11. Please Help

Dialysis is much better than med-surg! With that said, I am glad I started in the hospital before dialysis. Telemetry/Med-Surg gave me a great foundation. I am a better dialysis nurse because of it.
Wait! Honestly, hospital floor nusing sucks a whole lot; a lot of the time. Go for dialysis! You can learn to be great on the hospital floor or in the dialysis unit...
Good Luck,
DG

I am an RN with one year experience and interviewed for a dialysis position with a rate of $19.50 per hour. So not having ever been an LPN but knowing a few I would think that is pretty good. Compared to the hospital I worked at only payed RN's $15.81 per hour. So I am hoping I get the dialysis job.
