  1. I recently had by-pass surgery in the hospital where my wife works. She has been an RN for 30 years, the last 10 in dialysis both chronic and acute. While I was recovering for 5 days, and because I walked in for my operation instead of coming on the bus, and had no other health issues, the care I received seemed to me to be less intense than what my wife goes through at either a clinic where she treats sometimes 30 patients per shift, or in acutes, 3 per shift. A mature nurse who was caring for me thought the shift from dialysis to cvicu would not be difficult for my wife given her experience. What additional training would she need and how much time would that take up between jobs. Thanks
  2. my wife has been in dialysis for 20 years most recently with fmc for 10. she wants to travel within fmc through their agency. do any travelers know any horror stories about acute or chronic units in nc especially raleigh. shortages are everywhere but where are the worst units on the east coast
  3. work for one year at the hospital in dialysis. Then get a travel job and make $30.00/hr
  4. my wife has ten years with fmc. they will make your hands bleed make you put toothpicks in your eyes and work you to death. youre lucky you only have 16 patients. wait until they double the census and don't hire any help
  5. my wife has 20 years in dialysis and is now doing chronic after being in an acute unit and hates it 30 patients in chronic, 5 patients in acute. but you need more time before you travel
