new grad competition in San Diego hospitals?

I graduated with an ADN and will take boards in Cali. What is the competetive climate for new grad hospital positions in SD? In Minnesota the competition is fierce as most of the hospitals hire internally and BSNs first. Very little is left over for ADNs. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

By the way I have 9 months experience working sub-acute rehab as an LPN. In our program we could sit for LPN boards halfway through school. Will this 9 months help my status for consideration?

I don't know how the competition is, I did not go to school here. I did however apply, interview, and get offered two jobs as a new grad in the NICU at major hospitals in San Diego. I don't know if it was luck, I was good in the interview, or their desperation. I did already have my RN license and precepted in the department I was interviewing in.

Thanks Kimora, for your input.

Where I went to school in Minnesota the competition for hospital jobs for new ADN's is fierce. I am still not sure what the job climate is like in San Diego but I will find out soon!

I am in SD now - I absolutely LOVE it! I do not have an interim permit so I will look for work closer to my NCLEX date which will probably be in August.
