  1. Where I work you are required to have a BSN, they won't hire anyone with a diploma or ADN.
  2. Thanks for the information it helps!
  3. Does anyone know if $20-$22 is still the going rate for a new RN/BSN in the Denver area? Thanks
  4. Hi, I will be relocating to Denver soon and I am wondering how University Hospital in Denver is to work at. Specifically the NICU, but I am also looking for general opinions on the hospital. I currently work for a university hospital in another state and like that environment. Thanks in advance!
  5. I don't know how the competition is, I did not go to school here. I did however apply, interview, and get offered two jobs as a new grad in the NICU at major hospitals in San Diego. I don't know if it was luck, I was good in the interview, or their desperation. I did already have my RN license and precepted in the department I was interviewing in.

I just graduated from sjsu this past december. Everyone that I know passed the NCLEX the first time. They paid for us to all go to the Kaplan review program. I'm not sure if they always do that. They do have ATI testing after each semester but it's more for your own use; to show you what you need to work on for the NCLEX. There is a comprehensive ATI test before you advance to the final semester and you have to get a percentage correct to progress but they give you a few chances to pass it. It is a very good school and has a great reputation in the bay area.
  7. 1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 75 2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? Kaplan 3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? ATI every semester 4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? It took over a month. I am in Ca where they don't have quick results and it took my school awhile to get my transcripts in. 5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? I was confident that I passed. It really isn't as hard as people say it is. 6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Yes
  8. So I am a new grad and I was offered a job mid-march. I signed the offer letter and sent it back. I just got offered a job that I want much more. Now I'm not quite sure what I am supposed to do. I did not sign a contract with the first offer, but I did sign and return the offer letter and do the employee physical. This is at at will offer so is it ok if I now turn it down and take the one that I have always wanted to work at? I'm not quite sure what to do, I feel bad for the place that I already accepted at but I feel like I should lookout for myself first and do what I really want. Is there a right answer to this? Thanks!
  9. I spoke with the board (CA) today and they said that it takes 3 weeks for transcripts to be posted. I took my nclex on jan 12 and I am still waiting! Good luck
  10. Has anyone who graduated in December and in California received the results to their NCLEX yet? I havn't heard of anybody has; this is so frustrating...
  11. Checking the status of your IP does not tell you anything about passing the nclex or not. I have a friend that finished in Aug, passed her nclex so she's an RN now, and her IP is still on the site.
  12. I am in the exact same situation! I took the NCLEX a week ago and I am now waiting on the school. Funny thing is I also went to school in San Jose, CA, we were probably in class together! SJSU here...
