Why hire a doctor when you can hire a LAWYER!!??????
Seriously? Are you kidding me?
What is he going to do? Manage the political fallout. That's his job. He was hired to find other people to blame. He is a political operative there to protect THE PRESIDENT not THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!
Yes, we are going to hell in a hand basket.
What do you think about this? Are you disappointed and shocked?

I am disappointed at the way they are handling this. Hospitals aren't being given proper information to protect their staff and patient, while the president plays golf and hires this guy to do what? He is there to point fingers.
They need an actual doctor, preferably an infectious disease specialist; and a team of other doctors and nurses to devise an action plan.
Otherwise, exposed people will continue to travel and potentially expose others.
The movie Outbreak does t seem so far fetched anymore...

The new "Ebola Czar" is a fellow named Ron Klain, a lawyer and political insider with the Democrat party. From what I understand, he has worked for Joe Biden and Al Gore as Chief of Staff, and during the 2000 election he was involved in trying to overturn the vote in Florida. He has a reputation as a lobbyist and as a "fixer" of political problems. I can't see how he contributes anything in the way of a solution to the Ebola problem other than flying political cover for the White House.

I am not "disappointed and shocked." There are a kazillion physicians and public health professionals already involved. The President wanted to appoint someone with organization, systems, and management experience to oversee the larger process. This is something Klain reportedly is v. experienced with.
Personally, I think we were fine without an "Ebola czar," and Obama was right before to resist the public outcry for someone to be appointed. But, now that he's caved to the public pressure to make an empty, meaningless gesture, I think Klain sounds as good as anyone. Did anyone seriously think that anyone other than a Washington insider would get appointed??
