I'm in the same situation (California) where I took my boards Aug 7. I'm just keeping my eye on jobs out there so I can hit the job search running. To get through the 3-4 weeks, realize that there really is nothing you can do, except wait. Maybe make sure you have your resume polished up and a nice outfit to wear to interviews. Good luck!

rizza, what state are you in?? I am in California and I thought that Cali was the ONLY state does not give you quick results 48 hours after testing. I took the NCLEX on Monday that 20th and I too am trying to be patient while waiting for my results. I have no idea what to even do. I really need a job, I have had no income for the past 3 years, but I am finding when I go and apply, I dont know what to put on the application for what position I am applying for. I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place. I guess we need to just try and keep busy, stay focused and keep our minds occupied. good luck to you!!!!

I am from California and I took my boards in Ontario. I too have not been really working but one day a week. I am also very nervous about interviewing and resumes but im lucky my school will help me with both.

Oh, you are from down south. Most of my family is there, in Huntington Beach. I am up north, I tested in Fresno. I actually got an intervew ffor Monday morning, it is at a LTC/Rehab facility. They will start me out as a "Student Nurse" with pay of about $14-15/hour. Then, once I fid out if I passed NCLEX, I will transition into the LVN role with a pay increase to $21, then I can make $3 more/hour since I am IV and blood draw certified. Good luck to you!!!

Silly nurse

Thats awesome you have a job awaiting you! Congrats to you. I thought about applying at the rehab hosp i did my clinicals at. I really enjoyed seeing people get better and walk themselves out of the facility.

That's crap, I can't possibly wait that long for them to tell me I failed lol I will be so ticked off. I have to take my test on Tuesday and I am scared to death. I have every NCLEX review you can think of trying to study. This is nerve racking enough. I think you can probably go onto the board site and see if you got a license number, that's probably a good indicator you passed. I am going to be calling the board daily. Yikes!! Good luck, I hope you passed. What did you feel a majority of your questions were about?

JDID know your pharmacology! The Nclex review books were a awesome tool to study from. The board questions are set up in the same style. Once your in there taking the test its not that bad, Its the waiting and waiting for the results that sucks

:) i took my nclex 2 weeks ago in san jose, cali and im still waiting for my results. the sucky part of all of this, is that i was accepted into the advanced placement rn program at my school providing that i pass my nclex to stay in the rn program.. im really worried that i didnt pass... and if that's the case i'll have to wait a whole year to re-apply and i've done all the school work for nothing.... now that will really suck!!!!!!!!!:crying2:

Thanks Rizza, I seem to be doing ok with the NCSBN prep course, Kaplan, Davis, & Saunders. Kaplan is horrible, horrible!!! Seems like it goes against everything I was taught in school and other books. I stopped using it. The NCSBN site is really good. I'm not doing all the reading but am answering their quizzes and doing okay. For the most part I know my Pharm but if I get a test full of it I may be up the river. I feel like I have a good grasp but I keep thinking I'm going to get a test where everything looks foreign. I take my test TOMORROW MORNING YIKES!!!

Wow I never realized you had such a long wait for the NCLEX results in CA.

Not sure how I would cope with the stress but finding myself knee deep in something would surely have taken my mind of the wait.

Hang in there.... *hugs*

I'm in the same boat, but on the waiting list for the RN upgrade, which starts on 10/3 so I need to have my license by then. I took my test on 8/15 and hopefully, I will have my result by then. It sucks to be in California!! Think positive about passing the NCLEX.
