Nervous

Hello everyone, my name is Mindy and I am an older student 38 and I have transfered colleges this summer. I was attending a college for medical assisting for a year and decided that nursing is more for me and I want to be able to further my career.

So I only have 1 pre-req to finish and then I will get my name on the waiting list. It is Fundamentals of chemistry. I was able to take a test and I passed and was able to by pass taking some extra classes. So my last two years of high school I actually went to a vocational school, many years ago....and I did not have to take any chemistry..so I am reallly, really nervous about taking this class, but so excited I will only have to take 1 chemistry instead of 2. So any advice or support anyone could give me would be great. I just hope I don't feel so lost in the class since I don't have any chemistry background.

Thank you,

Mindy

Hi Mindy! I turn 35 this year so I'm right there with you on learning "later" in life. :)

I took a one-semester intensive Chem course (General, Bio and Organic combined) and surprisingly earned an A. I did have to study my buns off, but if you stay on top of the work and make sure you get any questions cleared, you'll be okay. I hadn't taken any Chemistry for about 18 years and was able to follow along.

Good luck! :)

You can do it! It had been 11 years since chem for me and I HATED it in high school. I was so afraid but it was OK. Make sure to work extra hard in this class, and I'm sure you'll do fine.
