This is my first year applying for the NELRP but I have known about it for about 3 years, I just recently got a job at a facility they recognize. I was wondering if anyone here has applied before and is the process really as long as I have been reading on past threads? Oh, and do they tell you why you don't get it if you get denied? I'm just a little nervous because I need this help greatly!
I just logged into the portal because I hadn't gotten any emails or heard anything since I applied (the day of the deadline, btw). I can't remember exact wording, but it asked me to confirm intent to accept and then it asked for my routing number by the end of the day. Pretty glad I happened to check today, since I never got an email. And sooooooo thrilled I might be getting some $$$$ It says it is all dependent on funding however.
I also applied last year to NHSC and received the award but had to turn it down when I changed jobs. Process was similar. I got an email asking to confirm intent to accept and giving routing number. Because I was going to decline, I ignored the email....eventually (like a month later) they called me and asked what was up. So FYI those deadlines on replying are not always so firm.

Good luck everyone! I've been following along here silently, just wanted to share my happy news. Hope you all get good news soon.
So I checked my spam folder and found an email from [email protected] in spam from about a week ago. I'm just very lucky I happened to log into the NELRP site last night (a few hours before my deadline to reply). I have other friends who applied who also had same thing --- never received any notice or emails, but then today got emails that they are no longer being considered for award because they did not respond to previous emails. Like I said before, in my experience last year, they both called and emailed, and nothing ever went to spam.
Bottom line: CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDERS. If you missed emails because of spam, please call to complain. The more complaints, the more likely they are to extend the deadline to accept for those who have missed it because they never received the emails.
Hi, I applied like many of you to the NELRP program, but I forgot about it until this past week. I randomly logged into the HRSA portal and saw that I needed to take action. My status had changed from under review to finalist for award. Additionally, I had to choose between Health Corp or Nurse Corp. Since NELRP is 60% of total loans, vs. 60k for two years, I opted to choose NELRP and was then asked to submit routing and bank account number. Since I chose Nurse Corp, my Health Corp application has now been declined and the current status says award declined.
Funny thing is, if I hadn't checked I would've never known. I searched my google mail and found initial NELRP action required notification June 12, f/u email sent June 17 with deadline June 19. I have received all other HRSA emails regarding application deadlines and webinars.
As of now, my current status for Nurse Corp states: Accepted Award- Under Final Review. Hope this goes through!
